Taconic announces change in leadership

Taconic announced today that Jim O'Keefe, President and Co-CEO of Taconic will be leaving under mutual agreement to pursue other interests. Following the transition in the first quarter of 2005, O'Keefe will leave Taconic to join the Tech Valley Nanotechnology and Microelectronics Initiative. A new President and co-CEO will not be named. Andrew Russell will continue as sole Taconic CEO and O'Keefe's duties will be shifted to Mr. Russell and other senior executives.

Mr. O'Keefe joined Taconic in 1998 as General Manager of Taconic's U.S. Industrial Products Division, was promoted to President of Taconic in 2000 and took on the role of co-CEO in 2002. “Jim has positioned the company more strongly as a global competitor,” Russell commented. “During his tenure, the company recruited key North American, European and Asian staff while acquiring facilities in California and the UK along with building a new plant in Korea .”
