The Business Divisions of Taconic

Taconic is a privately owned company, consisting of two business divisions, all specializing in coating of glass fabrics with PTFE:
  • Advanced Dielectric Division (ADD)

  • Industrial Products Division (IPD), which manufactures a wide range of coated materials, including specialty fabrics, pressure sensitive tapes, engineered conveyor belts and silicone products.
    One of it's sub-divisions, Food Products Division, offers a wide range of fabrics and converted materials to the institutional, retail food and food service markets.
    The other sub-division is Architechtural Fabrics Division (AFD), whose products are designed to provide leightweight, fire proof, and beautiful alternatives to traditional architechtural materials.

    • Introducing Advanced Dielectric Division ADD
    Taconic Advanced Dielectric Division manufactures PTFE/woven glass base materials for microwave, RF and high speed digital applications. Applications include LNAs, LNBs, PCS/PCN antennas, GSM and UMTS antennas, power amplifiers, filters, passive components, automotive cruise control, aerospace guidance telemetry, phase array radar, etc.

    ADD USA
    The World Headquarters of Taconic Advanced Dielectrics Division (ADD) is located in Petersburgh, NY (USA). This facility incorporates the best available computer controlled vacuum lamination equipment for the manufacture of PTFE/glass fabric base materials, computer aided design capabilities, and all appropriate test equipment.
    In LaVerne, CA (USA), Taconic ADD manufactures it’s patented TacPreg and TacLam product lines. This unique facility allows Taconic to also coat with thermoset resins.

    ADD Europe
    Taconic ADD in Mullingar (Ireland) is equipped like the Petersburgh facility, and was built to mainly serve the European market. The plant is in operation since 1997 and has undergone several capacity expansion programmes since.

    ADD Asia
    The latest addition of Taconic ADD is it’s manufacturing plant in Cheonan (South Korea), which commenced operation on September 1, 2005. It was built to serve the ever-growing Asian RF & microwave market. Taconic is proud of the fact to have manufacturing plants in all 3 major world regions for electronics.

    Dual Sourcing
    Three base material manufacturing sites in different parts of the world, allows Taconic ADD to offer its customers a unique, dual-sourcing capability for microwave and RF materials. Aside from world class quality and service, this feature becomes more important as the RF, microwave and high-speed digital designs increase their complexity.
