Taconic Expands Manufacturing to Asia
Taconic of Petersburgh, New York, USA, today announced that they
will begin manufacturing in Cheonan, Korea. This facility will
offer Taconic's full line of PTFE coated fabric, belting,
and adhesive backed tape.
"Taconic is very pleased to begin manufacturing on a third continent,
with facilities in New York, Ireland, and now Korea.
We are confident that our Asian customer base will see immediate benefits,
particularly in delivery time," stated Y.M. Lim, Managing Director of Taconic Korea.
Jim O'Keefe, Taconic Co-CEO remarked that global expansion continues to be a strong
focus at Taconic. He added, "shifting Asian production from New York and Ireland to
Cheonan, Korea will free up resources, increasing Taconic's capacity and enabling us to take
on larger customer requirements in Europe and North America. Additionally, the facility in
Korea provides a solid base for future Taconic product expansion strategies in this region."
